Fixing the Subfloor

Question: I am planning to take up carpeting and install hardwood floors over a plywood subfloor. The floor squeaks when we walk on it. Will installing the new floor fix that or will my new floors squeak too?

Answer: There’s a very good chance your new floor will squeak too if you don’t fix the subfloor before installing the new flooring. The good news, however, is that it’s an easy fix.
