Thinking about adding a DIY fire feature to your backyard, but low on budget? We got this covered with help from Ahmed Hassan.
First, someone get Ahmed Hassan on TV. This guy is a riot. He takes us on a backyard fire journey. From a pile of logs and patch of dirt to a fire ring to stone, brick, block, tile and concrete.
And while you want to call your friends over for fun, gathering and gobbling (food, not like turkeys), the people you DON’T want to call are the fire department. Check your local codes and ordinances.
And, he also points out, ask yourself do you really want a fire pit? Or are you just looking for a gathering place.
At the age of 10, Ahmed discovered his love of gardening and working outdoors. To many children, mowing lawns, trimming shrubs and stacking wood would be considered mundane chores. Not to Ahmed. With each completed task, he was building confidence and moving closer to his purpose in life, teaching others the importance of combining creativity with hard work. Ahmed’s love of landscaping paved the way to a successful career as one of today’s most sought after Celebrity Landscape professionals and Green Industry Experts.
Ahmed is a California licensed Landscape Contractor (C-27), and PLANET Certified Landscape Maintenance Technician. In addition to hosting ‘Yard Crashers,’ Ahmed also has contributed to numerous DIY Network shows including, “The Dirt On…,” “Green Me Up,” and “Blog Cabin.”
From workshop scraps to running gas lines Ahmed burns us up with fun and funny. Light it up. The heat is on. Check out this hangout with Ahmed Hassan about DIY fire features and share your questions and suggestions at myfixituplife@myfixituplife.com.
