2015_MyFixitUpLife_DIY Deer_Derpy — Derpy Deer is branches from a tree. Two ‘crotched’ branches make the legs. A thicker branch makes the body and some ‘parts’ make up the head and tail. Derp.

2015_MyFixitUpLife_DIY Deer_DSC_4203 — I cut the logs to length, then notched out the body to accept the ‘crotched’ (Y-shaped) branch legs.

2015_MyFixitUpLife_DIY Deer_DSC_4208 — Next, I made this face. I also drilled some big ole pilot holes so the screws I used would reach through the log into the other pieces.

2015_MyFixitUpLife_DIY Deer_DSC_4211 — My nephew helped. He was nervous, but hung in there. Screws through the body into the legs got the job done.

2015_MyFixitUpLife_DIY Deer_DSC_4224 — Back to the chainsaw again. I used Worx Tools electric chainsaw for making Derpy Deer’s face and I loved it. I used it for a bunch of other projects and that plug-in bad boy cut some wood. Look at those chips pouring out of there. And unlike me, it’s quiet.
