Ceiling medallions transform into easy-to-make holiday centerpiece ideas.
‘Tis the season for wreaths and tablescapes.
I’ve been experimenting with ways to use ceiling medallions as wreaths, which has led me to the other holiday favorite: holiday centerpiece ideas.
A ceiling medallion actually makes a perfect base for a centerpiece. With the center cut-out, a battery-operated candle fits perfectly inside. Painted or not, there are as many options to personalize a medallion as there are paint colors available at Sherwin-Williams.
I have a round table in my dining room, which is perfect for one medallion. But, for big holiday get-togethers, a series of medallions down a long table would add drama and elegance without taking a lot of time or money to create.
For my first attempts at making medallion centerpieces, I chose to pair a Fypon ceiling medallions with painted pine cones. Pine cones are such a plentiful autumnal element in our backyard and are perfect for Thanksgiving table decor. When they are painted, those pine cones are dressed up for a modern take on a classic rustic element.
