Ever thrown a shovel full of dirt into a wheelbarrow only to have it tip over? Yup…me too. So here’s a MyFixitUpLife QuickTip for keeping a wheelbarrow upright when loading.
While this is a question we might have asked Roger Cook, the inimitable This Old House landscape expert (listen to him talk almost all things landscaping here,) I’ve found that it’s best to place the first few scoops in the back corner of the wheelbarrow to act as ballast. Once there’s weight in that back corner, the barrow is less likely to tip when you throw shovels full of whatever into it.
