Yes, we’re addicted to DIY.

And it’s not just renovating houses. It’s everything.

When Mark and I were reminiscing at the end of 2014, we started dreaming about what we wanted to do in 2015. We also looked around at our talk show, website and brand. We realized: This no longer represents us.

Let’s fix it up!

So we’re remodeling our brand. We’ll be overhauling our website with some new features, adding new twists to our talk show, and sharing more ways to connect with us and share your story.

When we started My Fix it Up Life, we had been working in home improvement and design for a pile of years. And during that pile of years we were fortunate enough to do a lot of DIY, design and construction. We were able to interview the “best of the best” in home improvement and design. We were also lucky ducks to have been asked to write a few books, and share tips with radio and TV audiences around the country. And we’ve made sure to volunteer along the way, meeting people who desperately needed home improvement help, after Katrina in New Orleans, Joplin tornado, Superstorm Sandy, and more.

Mark and I had so much fun during interviews and learned so much from those experiences that we decided to try sharing the interviews as a radio show called My Fix it Up Life, instead of just writing about those experiences. It’s been more than 5 years since we did our first live radio show. And we are still in love with talking with experts about their passions for designing and building. It has never gotten old.

But, now that social media has exploded, we have the incredible ability to talk with new experts and DIY-obsessed every day. Even though our universe of daily interactions is huge, we noticed that our brand looks less personable. It’s time to change that.

We want everyone who e-meets us to feel welcome, like they’re visiting with us in our living room. So, we’re renovating our website, our show, and our brand.

Stay tuned. And keep sharing your stories with us. You help us learn. You help us get inspired. You help us make life fun.

And we’re the luckiest of ducks to spend time with you.
