DIY Network’s James Young talks w/ MyFixitUpLife

James Young

James Young talks w/ Mark & Theresa inside the world of Merillat at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show in Vegas.

James Young is a contractor, electrician and Realtor. A multi-skilled U.S. Army veteran who received three Army Achievement Medals and the Soldier of the Month Award, James is hardcore when it comes to home improvement.

James talks about how he transitioned from the Army to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and how he’s actually worked on the Las Vegas Convention Center, MGM Grand, Encore, City Center, and more.

James has remodeled nearly a dozen homes and worked on numerous large-scale commercial and residential projects as a licensed electrician. As host of DIY Network’s I Hate My Kitchen series, James tears up kitchens and shows homeowners the latest designs and products that won’t break the bank.

He talks about reclaiming the wood from a bowling alley for a recent project on DIY Network, and new products he’s seen at KBIS including a touch technology sink and a sliding countertop.

And James shares how he was first hired for a TV show, for which Mark auditioned, too.
