Grab some toothpaste. Take the itch out of your mosquito bite.

‣ MyFixitUpLife Mosquitoes have amped up their attack this summer. The best way to treat a mosquito itch that is distracting you to insanity is to cool it off.

Think ice, toothpaste, Tums, parsley.

Toothpaste: If you are among the lucky, and have a mosquito bite or 20 that are driving you mad, grab some non-gel toothpaste. Cover the little bumps in toothpaste and let it dry. You’ll look a little odd, but the toothpaste will cool the itch. After the paste cracks up, and starts to flake off, you can brush off the rest.

Tums: Wet your bite with a little bit of water or dampen a Tums, then place the Tums on your mosquito bite and rub in. You’ll start to feel some relief. As you can imagine, this is best for treating one or two bites at a time. (Or else you’ll need your family to lend some hands.)

Salt. This solution is especially perfect for when dining alfresco, and you’d like to be subtle about dealing with your mosquito love bites. Take a bit of water in your hand, then sprinkle salt to make a paste. Dab the paste on your bites. It may sting a bit at first, but you’ll feel better and be able to enjoy your evening.

Parsley. Another alfresco dining solution is parsley. Crush parsley, and then apply it to your bites. The parsley will cool your skin, and help neutralize the poison.
