Fun Theory and Our Delay of Game

We had a delay of game in our renovations this week. The cause? Stomach flu. Everyone at our home was lucky enough to enjoy it. So, our kitchen project is aching to be moved forward this coming week. And we’re more than ready to deliver.

Sesame Street turned the big 40, with its 4,187th episode and Jimmy Choo apparel and footwear is now available at limited H&M stores. I’m completely delighted about both.

And despite the more intense family needs of illnesses and lack of kitchen, I did have an opportunity to enjoy the HGTV special on Veteran’s Day called American Heroes that featured veterans’ housing projects by Rebuilding Together Philadelphia and by Rebuilding Together St. Louis. Rebuilding Together Philadelphia is a local, independent affiliate of a national network focused on preserving affordable homeownership using volunteer resources. For details, visit www.rebuildingphilly.org.

And I discovered the ‘Fun Theory’ in a fun video on taking the stairs. Set in Stockholm, the premise that fun can change behavior for the better was tested. After stairs were painted to look like a piano with sound installed, 2/3 more people than normal chose to use the stairs.

I’m carrying the idea of Fun Theory with me… It helps to have a sense of humor and a stock-piled joy-filled perspective when trying to navigate MyFixitUpLife. Every day is a surprise at our FixitUpHouse.
