Drilling holes is hardly my favorite task. I do it all the time, whether it’s for a pipe, wire or deck hardware, but I feel like it’s more wrestling-meet meets rugby-match than carpentry sometimes.
The larger the hole, the more bits tend to clog with chips. And for holes that can be seen — think pergola, deck or porch — blow-out through the back is sloppy.
