What are Alzheimer’s Home Design Strategies?

Alzheimer’s Home Design Strategies help decrease stress and increase quality of life for those who have Alzheimer’s or another type of dementia. From lighting to mirrors and color to flooring types and furniture, it’s often less expensive to update a home during the early stages than to invest in memory care or another type of facility.

Theresa Clement is a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) with a specialty in Alzheimer’s and dementia home design strategies. Her passion developed after her father was diagnosed with the disease and she made it her mission to become an expert to help her father and others who would benefit from easy home updates. With the help from a neurologist at the Cleveland Clinic and input from the Alzheimer’s Association, she developed her design prescription to help those living with Alzheimer’s.
