If you are curious about starting a greener, more sustainable lifestyle at home, there are simple steps to getting started.

Big changes aren’t necessary to make an impact. And, most often those big changes can become difficult to stick to. If you’ve ever made a big New Year’s resolution to exercise every day or tried a juice cleanse, you know that it’s hard to achieve a goal that’s outside of your normal habits. The bigger the change, the harder it is to keep committed to the change.

So, you don’t need to give up your car, install solar panels, or set up a rain barrel as a first step. There are small steps like choosing products that are local, have less plastic, and are recyclable or compostable. Also, using rechargeable batteries, reusable food containers, and starting to compost coffee grounds and produce scraps can be other small, achievable steps.

I shared more ideas with Brian Sodoma from the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Click below to read the full story.

What are some ways that others could start sustainable living at home? I’d love to know your suggestions, so we can try them out at our house.
