So bananas home decor may not be something you’ve thought about. But I did, and here’s what I found.

My family eats a lot of bananas.

I buy bananas at least twice every week to make sure we get our daily fix of the delicious fruit. All told, we consume about 8 every day. According to the USDA, Americans are averaging about 13.5 pounds each year. That’s about 40 bananas. Oh, we pass that average by mid-January. So we are definitely doing our part to support keeping bananas at the top of the world’s most popular fruit list.

Our banana loving family inspired me to read the Banana: The Fate of the Fruit That Changed the World by Dan Koeppel. I did not know that there are so many kinds and colors of bananas around the world, and that the ones we devour can’t reproduce without help. They are bred to not have seeds. Fascinating.

And then, I started thinking about banana chairs, tables, and home decor. If we love bananas so much, I was betting there are people celebrating the banana at home.

Oh, they are celebrating the fruit. And among the interesting finds available, these are my favorite bananas home decor.
