Painting Holiday Card Holder Medallion Fypon

We love simple, fun bedroom design ideas that can transform the room’s look and feel and give it a pop of fresh in just a few hours. And as much as we love tools and building things, we also love projects that are simple to DIY.

Bedroom design ideas: Add color to a 2-piece ceiling medallion to personalize your space.

One cool way to style your bed is to make it hot. Instead of a painting or other art—or nothing—add a urethane ‘sunburst’ above the sleep sack. Paint it white to match existing trim, or give it a bold treatment. You could even add a simple shelf underneath so you can place pots, curios, small pictures, or whatever strikes your fancy. Fypon sunbursts have awesome detail, they’re the right size and are very light. They can be installed with nails or screws and the holes easily filled. We recommend locating the wall studs and fastening into them.

Another fun project is to un-boring the ceiling by adding 2-piece Fypon ceiling medallions around light fixtures or ceiling fans. The cool thing about using a 2-piecer is that you don’t have to remove the electrical device or deal with any wires to install the medallion. Bedroom design ideas that require wiring aren’t always simple. Just slide the two pieces together around the fixture. You may be able to loosen a set screw and lower the escutcheon—the thing that covers the light fixture hardware in the ceiling—and slide the medallion together that way. And ceiling medallions are awesome for art. Think fun, creative colors for a personalized look.

We love makin’ stuff, but simple bedroom design ideas that you can install in a few hours to for a fast freshen-up are hot.
