Mark and I have heard enough times that we aren’t a typical married couple that I may start to actually believe it.
The part about us that amazes most: We are happy together all day long, whether on a jobsite, in the office, on a business trip or as parents raising two kids.
It’s a testament to our unique fondness for each other. And our passion, probably more like obsession, with all things construction.
We’ve tried to talk about something other than home improvement (or our kids) while sipping coffee or having a cocktail on a date night, but it never lasts very long. We’re 100 percent obsessed with our home improvement lifestyle.
Even when we traveled to Chicago for the Craftsman Experience, where we spent three days building a work station, a wall, a deck, and sharing molding tips.
And we had a ball. We were able to get back to the core of what we love: creating with each other. There weren’t the distractions of dirty dishes, homework, bills, etc. It was all inside, so there were no worries of weather getting in our way. And we got to share our love of building with a live audience through the Craftsman Experience.
Not everyone would consider building projects with their spouse for three days in one room for a live audience pure pleasure.
But, I do. I’m a lucky girl.
