Here’s a problem solver — and a nice detail to add to your next flooring project: flush mounted wood floor vents.
You can match the wood species of the grill with the species of floor you’re installing. They’re great for seamlessly tying in the HVAC vents and returns when laying new floors and are a nice upgrade to existing floors. The crew at Cape Cod Air Grilles, cautions you’ll want to put yourself into slow speed and detail the installation properly when setting them in existing floors. What’s nice, however, is that the grills come 3/4-inch thick, so once you cut the hole you can place the grill on the subfloor and sand as necessary.
