This holiday craft helps extend the day of Christmas into 12 days of fun for our family. And among all of the Christmas crafts for kids we’ve tried, it’s definitely a craft we can do together in just one afternoon.

Supplies

To make this 12 Days of Christmas craft, we used:

12 mini buckets

glue

ribbon

glitter

chalkboard spray paint

How to

Remove the handles.

First, I removed the handles from each bucket before painting, so we could paint the handles in a different color.

Paint the buckets.

The next step is painting the buckets. If your kids want to be involved in painting, a better choice would be using arts and crafts paint.

Glitter dip.

After the paint dried, we applied glue to the top portion of the bucket and dipped each one into glitter.

Tie a ribbon.

We labeled each bucket with chalk, and hung them in a row with red ribbon.

Add gifts.

The last part is the best part. Put little presents or notes into each bucket, so your family has a little surprise throughout the holiday.

Make it your own.

With different embellishments, this craft project can be perfect for a birthday party or other holiday, too.

Enjoy your Christmas crafts for kids this holiday season.
