But it can be frustrating. Here are three tips for plaster perfection.
1. Don’t apply too much compound at once. You only need about 1-inch on the edge of the knife to spread nicely.
2. To prevent compound from squeezing out the ends of the drywall knife as you apply it, wipe the corners of the knife on the pan to expose the blade a little.
3. And, after applying each coat, flare the knife along the edges to ‘feather’ or ‘burnish’ it smooth.
This will make the drywall repair easier and require much less sanding.
