Want a healthier, greener lawn without having to do any extra work? Of course, who doesn’t.
One of the simplest tricks I know is to set the wheels of the mower to their highest setting.
Doing this doesn’t mean you have to mow more (or less), rather what mowing tall does is exposes more of the grass’s blades to the sun so it can photosynthesize more. The more grass can grow the healthier it is. Further, mowing tall creates more shade on the ground making it tougher for weed seeds to germinate and grow. As you can see in the photo, the lawn mowed too short is noticeably more brown.
