Work pants are tough for me.
When it comes to clothes, I’m a girl at heart. And so it’s hard to think about practicality as more important than style. But, on on the jobsite, function always wins.
And when it comes to function, I’m in love with my new Dipper pants from Athleta, which is a sister brand to Banana Republic and Old Navy.
The girl in me loves that these pants are cotton/spandex, so they are comfortable and hug my curves. But that’s just the start. They repel water and stains, and wick on the inside. Perfect for the all-weather work that is part of our business.
But, it gets better. There are pockets that zip and snap at the calf, so instead of tucking my phone (or random things) in my back pocket or inside my toolbelt, I can slip it neatly and safely inside a pocket at my calf.
While I was in Joplin for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, these pants ruled. Being outside in the 30-degree weather (wearing everything in my suitcase), and juggling many projects during the 96-hour playground build was tough. And as you can see by the photo, I REALLY used those lower pockets.
