How to make an awesome garden hose hanger

For a frequent and handy DIYer with typical home improvement tools, it can be way easier and so much less expensive to make a custom garden hose hanger than relying on a store-bought holder that it has to fit the space, style, and size of the hose.

Since many of us frequent-DIY-flyers have some cut-offs from other projects, we have stock that’s ready to become something new and helpful. Get the spot-bonus of getting organized and clearing out the workshop by using that leftover lumber. Then enjoy the productivity and organization from the simple helpful project.

While garden hose reels seem terrific, and some work really well, others are just terrible. Yet, garden hoses are tough customers we need to reel in. Without reeling them in easily, they become a jumbled mess and a frustration zone for every time the hose is needed.

Problem with hose hangers

Garden hose holders, hangers, and reels aren’t often up to the task of managing a garden hose. Store-bought hose hangers aren’t usually big enough, they spin awkwardly, or they just get the hose tangled up. Plus, the wrestling match to get them contained is harder with a longer hose.

Solution for hanging hoses

With just a few tools and a few scraps of pressure treated 2×4, we take a different approach to this backyard problem. We made a custom garden hose holder.

Get your DIY on and save all kinds of time, hassles, and frustration with this handy how-to video. Watch the steps to making a garden hose holder. Then, build a custom hose hanger. And lastly, enjoy the satisfying results of inexpensive efficiency.
