Thanks for checking out our how to videos. We hope they help with your DIY, home improvement and around-the-house fixes.

This one—how to fix a retaining wall—shows some tips and tricks for repairing loose capstones. I see this constantly on concrete block walls like the one shown here. The good news is the fix is usually pretty easy. And that is something you’ll almost never catch me saying!

We used a wire brush/scraper tool to knock down the old glue left over from the original installation. The wire brush loosened dirt that was jammed in there.

Then we used Gorilla Glue Construction Adhesive. Unlike other glues we’ve used it applies easily and doesn’t smell. Whenever I use construction adhesive—remember, it’s made to stick to stuff—I like to have a shop rag close by. Paper towels won’t really do the trick if you spill it on a rough surface.

So we hope you like our how to videos. If so, there are more at MyFixitUpLife on YouTube. Please let us know if this was helpful.

Oh, and another tip: I like to try and save material when I can. So for this, before screwing the nozzle back on, I inserted a screw into the tube. Later, when I need it again, I may be able to pull the screw out and create a new channel in the tube.

Added tip to our how to videos: A screw in the tube can help it last longer in storage.
