Junk isn’t junk when you repurpose it… Let’s blab holiday DIY ideas

What I think it’s fit for the trash isn’t necessarily what you think is junk. We’re repurposing for holiday DIY ideas

Theresa likes to think paint is like a designer’s magic wand. It can transform anything into a treasure.
Pineapples and tree ornaments can become a stunning site when the colors make a bold statement.

Holiday DIY ideas are everywhere.

Our MyFixitUpLife show hosts are inspired to make treasures every holiday season. So Mark and Theresa want to show-and-share ways to makeover older pieces that might seem like junk. But junk is only junk when it doesn’t seem useful or charming any longer. DIY can fix that.

Check out our inspirations and share your projects. Share links in the comments section below if you’d like us to help with advice to a ‘junk into treasure’ project at your home.

We like to celebrate the 12 days of Christmas. It makes the season longer, and slower. Our kids helped decorate this little $1 buckets so we can put little daily presents in them.
Candy is an inexpensive decor element. Theresa used spice gum drops glued onto a styrofoam round to make this holiday wreath.
A mid-century dresser from Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore updated in just an afternoon with Krylon spray paint.
This under $20 cage light just needed some gold paint and some baubles to transform into a beauty queen.
There’s something about a cranberry wreath that exudes a richness of holiday cheer to Theresa. She added the pretty little ribbon to give it a girly feel.
Theresa does love her candy wreaths. This candy wreath makes a statement and was a fun project that you can do with older kids.
Theresa shops Habitat for Humanity ReStore to get inspired by what’s in stock. This dresser became a storage bench.
Add color to a ceiling medallion to personalize your space, on the wall as art, or on the ceiling with an elegant light fixture.
Pine cones painted bright blue are a perfect textural accent to a green medallion, a blue painted candle holder from Ikea, and a battery-operated candle.
