Bench-building is in my blood.
I’ve been building them since pre-school, where I developed my technique: two wide legs and a nice top. My preschool bench is made to tip over so my friends and I can laugh and build another one right away.
I have another bench I use all the time, too.
This one does not come apart and I have never tipped it over.
My preschool bench is made from blocks. My home-bench is made from Western Red Cedar wood boards. I told my dad they’re a 2×12. I use it as a stool at the sink washing my hands and brushing my teeth and as a bench for putting on my shoes. I also use it as a car to push around the house. It’s a good car.
My dad saw my bench and had some bench-building questions, so here’s what he learned from me about building benches.
