Question: I’m trying to win the war of weeds with a spot in my yard that has been over-run by all kinds of weeds creepy crawlies. Some are climbing all over the place and some are just deeply rooted in the ground. I’ve seen landscape fabric used on DIY. Can you tell me if it’ll work before I go to all the trouble of putting it down (this is a pretty big area that I’m trying to recover and make nice again.)
Answer: Landscape fabric (or what some landscapers call “geo-textile fabric”) does work, but it works better in some applications than others and, I’m sorry to say yours might be one of the others.
