Having a sweet yet style precocious little girl as a client was a treat and a design challenge for a girl’s bedroom makeover.
The plain Jane bedroom had no personality. And the little girl explodes with charisma.
My challenge is to make the bedroom fit the girl.
She loves dance, art, and everything girly.
Working with a creative soul who exudes a confidence fit for a 40-year-old woman is a treat and a delight. Most women wouldn’t even consider a purple room, but this little girl loves purple, and every color in the rainbow. As long it seemed cheerful and glamorous, I know my client will be pleased with her new girl’s bedroom.
Makeover goal: Update a bare and boring bedroom into a room fit for a creative little girl.
Makeover plans: I’m planning to update the room with paneled wainscoting and chair rail. Inside each panel, which is essentially a picture frame, is an opportunity to create and post artwork. We want to use chalkboard paint inside each of those spaces, so she can have a little art gallery in her bedroom. While the paneling and trim are a shade of cream called Porcelain, the rest of the room is painted a sophisticated shade of purple called Thistle from Sherwin-Williams.
