Make an armoire into a home office

Creating the perfect home office sometimes just takes a little imagination and some DIY

Making extra workspace in your home can be a challenge, especially when your partner needs a home office area as well.

We found a great unfinished armoire with some nice features that will serve as a simple, condensed home office for use in limited space.

Now, that armoire needs a coat of stain to last a lifetime. After some thought, we settled on Minwax Polyshades Mission Oak with a Satin finish.

Since Polyshades is a combination wood stain and protective polyeurethane finish, it saves time by giving them the color they want with the durability to last a lifetime.

The first step is to sand down the unfinished armoire and apply Minwax pre-stain wood conditioner to ensure that the wood will absorb the Polyshades evenly.

Before moving on to apply the Polyshades stain, be sure to grab a high-quality bristle brush and test a small patch in the inside corner to make sure the color looks the way you’d imagined.
