Make an easy turkey craft for Thanksgiving.

For less than $20, we can make 4 of these easy turkey crafts.

My son Jack challenged me to make a turkey craft for Thanksgiving decorations this fall. He was looking around the house and realized that we have made a lot of decorations for Halloween and Christmas, but my already-made options for Thanksgiving are sparse.

So, the turkey challenge was accepted.

On his day off from school for election day, Jack and I shopped at Michael’s for supplies for this easy turkey craft. He helped select the feathers, the size of the styrofoam balls, and he snuck a few of his own project supplies in my basket along the way. Jack seems to have an endless need for a variety of glue and tape options. He is always making something.

The steps for this easy turkey craft:

The supplies for this craft included scissors, styrofoam balls, glue, twine, googly eyes, pins, and one nail. I also used a tiny bit of red ribbon for the gobble (not pictured).
The first step is attaching the end of the twine to the ball with a pin.
Apply glue around the end and start wrapping the twine.
After the ball is covered, cut the end.
Insert a nail in the end of one ball.
Then insert the other end of the nail into the other ball.
Take apart a clothespin and use the two wooden parts to make feet.
Now that the turkey has feet, it can stand up.
Apply glue to the end of a metal cake tester, and insert into the end of the turkey to make a hole for a feather. Repeat, and repeat.
Insert two wooden parts of a clothespin for the beak. Cut a red gobble from a ribbon or fabric and attach with a pin.
It’s a happy turkey now.
