Mow the lawn like a boss: Husqvarna AWD mower

Mow the lawn: Husqvarna mower

Got a lotta grass to knock down fast, then you need a grass-shortener that’ll help you mow the lawn like you mean it. And for lawns with major hills, berms and embankments, one with some grip can help you king-of-the-hill-it every week.

Husqvarna’s AWD mow the lawn machine gets it done.

Full disclosure: I’m a lawn fanatic and typically prefer a free-wheeling push-mower. However, after using Husqvarna’s HU675AWD walk-behind, I could be swayed. Here’s why:

I almost always think an automotive feature on something to mow the lawn is marketing fast-talk. But in this case, the traction is good. It’s especially good if you have major hills or steep elements to your yard. Or, if you have a bad back and a little assist from the mower makes a big difference. I could literally guide this machine up a 45-degree-ish hill with one hand. And it flows around curves like rounded garden beds nicely.

The walking pace is good and the throttle bar is easy enough to back-off of when you need to. But you don’t want to need to that much: This is an all-on/all-in mower that’ll take you round-and-round your 1/2-acre back yard.

The deck design makes it an OK mulcher. As long as the grass isn’t too long, it can keep up. There’s a bag if you need it.

One automotive feature I do like quite a lot to mow the lawn is the one-pull start on the Husq-y’s Kohler engine. If you have a bad back, this thing is a life saver. Or if you just don’t like bending, pushing levers or pumping bulbs, it’s just as awesome. Pull. Go.

For chopped up lawns where there’s lots of nooks and crannies, ins and outs where you have to operate the unit more like a vacuum than a lawn mower, it’s a challenge. The wheels don’t free-wheel; there’s always some resistance from the drive belts. So unless you tip the mower up a little and roll it on its back wheels, the front wheels just drag when you pull it backwards. That’s OK sometimes, but it’s a wrestling match on lawns like mine.

So if you have a wide open yard and don’t own a tractor (or do own a teenager), Husqvarna’s pull-and-go AWD walk behind lawn mower will help you knock down a big job, mow the lawn, and keep your wheels turning.

It seems like having a good looking lawn comes from the right equipment and being able to take your time. Unfortunately, it is hard for to find the time to do that. It is a good thing that there are people out there who are willing to do it for you.
