MyFixitUpLife talk show: Counter cultured 180FX

Monica Pedersen

From counter to cabinet, right up the wall, we’re finding out that surface runs sensuously deep inside the world of Formica at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show.

And we’re delighting in the delicious designs of HGTV’s Monica Pedersen, who took a break from presenting  gorgeous new products from Kohler to check in with Mark & Theresa at the Formica booth.

Theresa asks Monica about surprising the HGTV Dream Home winner. When she got the phone call to surprise the winner, Monica was actually in the winner’s town helping with a friend’s interior design dilemmas. Monica also shares her love of golf and her favorite golf courses: Irish Course in Kohler, Wisconsin and the Oceans Course in South Carolina.

Mark & Theresa talk with Formica’s President Mitch Quint, who goes below the surface of one of the most utilized—and important—surfaces in the home: our kitchen and bath counters. Mitch checks down Formica’s newest dialed-in details that’ll bring new life to the kitchen and bath—and wall surfaces for that matter—and make them more beautiful. Formica is getting it done, coming up big with everything from new green initiatives to high-end features in more affordable product lines.

Formica’s 180fx in Petrified Wood, used as a wall treatment

Formica’s Todd Vezina talks design and countertops. The 180fx line is completely different–and now you can get the realistic look of granite for less money in these beautiful laminate surfaces. Theresa shares her love for the Petrified Wood design from the 180fx line and Todd explains how this line is created from an entirely different design stand point, and has really taken off. The 180fx line has become one of Formica’s most successful product launches in the company’s 100 years. And these gorgeous laminate surfaces are not just for counters but can even be hung as wall art.

Finally, Timothy, from Charles & Hudson, talks cool countertop materials and learns from Theresa about the relationship-saving toilet at TotoMark & Theresa also get fired up about Timothy’s new venture: Built by Kids: ABC’s of DIY.
