FixitUp Find: New Holland EH15 Excavator

After five minutes stretching a tape on my last estimate, it was clear I’d need more muscle — even with a stronger-than-The-Hulk apprentice. The job — a deck with big site prep — called out loud for an excavator’s power.

I used the New Holland EH15 digging footings, moving large plants, pulling concrete-embedded posts, replanting shrubs and re-grading a lawn bed. It rocked in all applications.

The machine’s digging pattern dug bigger footing holes than needed but enabled lifting, carrying, and re-planting a 300-pound shrub/root ball. (Note: hole size may well be operator error. This machine does so much it takes skill to use properly.) The knock-down blade enabled re-fill in double-time. The machine’s tracks were expectedly tough on turf but hardly devastating.
