I’m grateful for Operation Gratitude. I have never served our country in the military. And I wouldn’t know how to begin to truly thank the men and women who are protecting us at home and abroad. I’m humbled by their dedication, sacrifice and service.
So when I heard about Operation Gratitude’s program of sending care packages filled with donations to the heroes serving, I wanted to take part.
As part of the 2.1 million care packages that they have delivered, they include homemade scarves. I love knitting and crocheting, and I have extra time on my hands. We all do. We all spend time every day waiting somewhere for something. And instead of always just scrolling-scrolling-scrolling through the endlessness on my smart phone, I try to use some of that time to show my gratitude.
Ok, yes, I still scroll during my downtime. But, I also take time while waiting at doctor appointments, on airplanes and trains, and while chilling at home to make scarves for Operation Gratitude. I just sent off a package with 13 homemade scarves, and I hope the scarves help show my gratitude.
If you are interested in taking part in Operation Gratitude, head over to their website. There are more details about other ways to participate in their care package program for the United States military.
