Used for porches and play-sets, plates and pilings, decks, docks and more there is hardly a more heavily worked, more deeply depended upon material in and around our homes than pressure treated Southern pine. It’s safe, super-tough, and as beautiful as nature intended. We know. We’ve built with it for years.
For the toughest jobs–retaining walls, deck framing, docks–our go-to is pressure treated pine. It beats back the gnarly stuff in the ground, on concrete or in the ocean like wet-dry and freeze-thaw cycles, bugs, and just brutally hard work.
We pick Southern pine for primo stuff too like decking and play-sets. Its linear, wavy grain has just the right blend of randomness and regularity that makes it inimitable and beautiful–and it’s a renewable resource.
It’s also safe for families and pets. Always has been. There are different formulations that give the material different looks for different uses (some decking-only material has a lighter hue than ground contact material for example) but they all excel at being both brawny and beautiful in the right proportions.
From the bull-work of bottom wall plates to topping off a glorious guardrail, pressure treated Southern pine delivers in both substance and style like no other material out there.
