Question: I’m looking at buying a house. It’s an older fixer-upper. I plan to do a lot of the work myself, but I don’t want to get in over my head. My biggest concern is the roof. The main roof is too steep, so I’ll to hire that out. I can walk on the porch roof, but I’m not so sure about its condition. From this photo, can you tell how big the freight train coming down the track is ?

This porch roof looks like what most pros would consider a “walkable” pitch. However, is the undulations in the shingles and a few other things that is concern us.
