Like so many great ideas, this one is stolen. Shamelessly, I might add (if that’s even necessary).
I’ve now seen a couple of contractors whose skills and passion for their craft I respect using a long, no-name driver bit in their cordless impact drivers. It’s 6- to 8-inch long solid shaft and tip, and it gives those diminutive yet rock-n-roll impactors a little reach. This reach is something I’ve come to enjoy using a Milwaukee bit extension from an awesome bit pack I wrote about recently. The little — indeed, easily overlooked — accessory works great and accepts different driver heads. But it’s not the bit I originally intended to use. That bit I found testing the Senco DuraSpin DS275-18V.
