Site work tips for sheds, playsets, backyard structures

Looking for DIY site work tips?

Turning not-so-level-earth into a flat, even surface that drains water and is solid-enough to support your project can be challenging, but it’s crucial to creating a project that will last.

Site work tips

Mark and I worked together to turn this patch of grass into the foundation for a backyard playset.

We used and stone dust and rocks to create a flat, stable perimeter and filled in with pea gravel where the structure’s posts will rest. This creates a base that won’t move—but will let water pass—for the real wood playset.
