Dollar for dollar, remodeling a bathroom, or putting one in a new home or addition, is a huge budget number. They’re tough to build, difficult to detail and challenging to bring in under budget.
One of the biggest sink holes in a bath is the tub and/or shower surround. They can be expensive. And I’ve sat through enough design meetings to know many customers have salmon appetites on a fish-stick budgets. In other words they want cast iron shower receptors and custom tile detailing but don’t realize that the materials, labor and craftsmanship to put it all together cost, well, a lot.
