Mark and Theresa talk Real Outdoor Living with long-time friend and expert Brad Staggs at the International Builders Show. Brad details the first time he met Mark, and it was an extreme story.
Brad is sharing his favorite wood projects videos on the Real Outdoor Living website, and Mark spends a lot of time kidding Brad about not wanting to watch him on the videos.
In this interview they’re addressing the concern in recent years about the safety of pressure treated wood. And Mark & Theresa learn that the pressure-treated wood industry plants more trees annually than are harvested, so forests are actually in better shape than they were 100 years ago.
Founded in 2008 by the Southern Lumber Manufacturers Association, Real Outdoor Living tries to educate you about the benefits of choosing pressure-treated wood for any and all outdoor living products. And according to the 2010 Cost vs. Value report in Remodeling magazine, wood decking offers up to a 72 percent return on your investment.
Brad has been involved in a variety of home improvement shows and videos, country music magazine programs as well as travel, cooking and game shows (and on an acting stint on NBC’s daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives). When HGTV launched in 1994, Brad was the home-maintenance expert on Today at Home.
