We are ? of being overinfluenced. And we’re tired of hearing new trends from brands as a coy way of selling products.
Are you tired of seeing more sponsored-by-product-brand posts than authentic content? Bored of hearing ‘home trends’ like grey is the new white or home spas are popular or white ceilings are out? Then this #WalkThrew is for you.
What isn’t the #WalkThrew?
It’s not a regular hosty podcast or webinar. There aren’t talking heads hyping a new product for sale. We aren’t stuffing the chat with canned ‘talking points.’
Who is invited to the #WalkThrew?
House professionals and hobbyists—designers, architects, remodelers, builders, brand managers, product makers, house enthusiasts, and DIYers–are welcome to join our live interactive discussion. The discussion is the star of the chat, and not any one person or brand.
Who is leading the conversation?
Well, us. We’re Mark and Theresa Clement from MyFixitUpLife, and will guide the conversation. You’ll hear our voices, reading your comments and mentioning your social handles so others can find you online and connect with you.
We’ll show the images you share before and during the chat, so everyone can see your work and witness the home trends you are experiencing where you live and work.
As pro home experts who work for private clients, write for trade and consumer home publications, and have authored books, spoken at local and international events, and were design and construction producers for TV, we’ve gathered two decades of residential construction experience and know-how. Enough to know when a ‘home trend’ is built on air.
For 8 years, we hosted a syndicated radio show called MyFixitUpLife. We interviewed celebrities and experts, talked about our projects and products we use and recommend. We had to stop because Theresa became too ill to carry on, and Mark became a full-time remodeling contractor. Now that she’s healthy again, we wanted to relaunch but in a new way. Instead of spotlighting celebrities and brands, we want to dig through the land of over-influence and find out what’s really happening in homes across the country.
