Tips and Tricks for Drywall Repair and Paint Preparation

One of the perennial problems with drywall repair and paint preparation (usually one in the same on our projects) is the amount of time and number of applications of (depending on the issue) joint compound, tape, and more joint compound.

If you’re using compound from a bucket, you’re looking at 24 hour dry times–per application. If you’re using setting-type compound (like DuraBond 20, 45, or 90), they undeniably set up faster, but they also set up rock hard and you have to clean your mixing bucket, tools, and tray between every application. Hey, we like building stuff, but my mood starts going downhill when I have dishpan hands.
