Tool review: Diablo 9-inch wood demolition recip saw blade

The Diablo 9-inch nail-embedded wood demolition recip saw blade is relentless in this tool review.

This recip saw helped while I was building a deck and a fence. I needed to remove a fence cap.

Diablo’s 9-inch recip saw blade easily halved the 1/2-ply (most of it was mulch, not a real test) but it also cut the hand-drive 16d while holding the 2×4 plate to the tops of the fence posts. It also shot through the wood fiber of the double 2×4 and single 2×6 (4 1/2-inches if you’re keeping track) framing assembly holding it all together.

And while I could have done all 200+ feet of fence with this single type of blade, I didn’t. Instead I used Diablo’s uuuuuuber carbide pruning blade to cut the wood parts. Its bigger teeth and deeper gullets blasted through the nail-less wood.

And then, able to get a little gap between the fence post and now, cut the nails with the 9-inch Diablo metal cutting blade.

All three blades have a home on my truck.

Have you tried this recip saw blade? What’s your go-to blade? We’d like to know why. Share in the comments below or send us a note.
