It’s OK to use pretty tools that make you smile and inspire you to use them. Be proud to be pretty, and let yourself love beautiful things.
I know that what is practical isn’t always my first choice. I’ll wear jewelry and a dress or skirt with my workboots while I’m on a job site, finishing a makeover.
It might sound a bit naive or inexperienced, but neither are the case. I wouldn’t wear flip flops. Any kind of footwear that easily comes off, or leaves your toes open to possible hazards isn’t smart. And a skirt is fine if I’m not doing flooring or roof framing. Yes, I could wear oversized t-shirts and sneakers while I’m in our workshop, but that just won’t happen. I wouldn’t feel like me.
Pretty things change my mood, and I like that I can rely on that when I haven’t slept because of an arduous TV makeover deadline.
Same goes with tools.
It’s ok to use tools that are pretty. I know, you might get teased by your husband if your tools are pink or bedazzled. But really, who cares? If the tools work, and you are attracted to them, you are more likely to use them. You probably wouldn’t ask your dad, brother or husband to pick out your make-up or shoes, right?
For a new DIYer, I’m all-in when it comes to doing what works and what makes you happy, comfortable, inspired, and successful.
So here’s a tool kit that could inspire anyone who loves pretty things that works. Tiffany’s Tools has these charming tool kits filled with the essentials a homeowner or renter needs. Compact and attractive, these tools will help solve tons of little fixes.
My favorite part isn’t the tools. It’s the case. With an elegant glamour style, the little tool case has become an essential in my travels. If you spot me at an airport, there’s a good chance you’ll see this little red case in my hand.
If you’ve discovered a new essential, I’d love to know about it. Share in the comments section below, or head over to Twitter or Facebook and talk with me right now. -T
