I like winter. I like snow. I like the opportunity to use my snow thrower. However, I could live without some of the damage winter weather can cause, notably to my vehicle.
I drive a 4-wheel drive and my wife drives an all-wheel drive, so when it snows, we can leave the house. But, so many times I’ve found my windshield wipers either encased in ice and snow and I have to excavate them as I clean off the car, or the blades are simply frozen to the glass.
In either case, extracting them from their frozen gloom only serves to ruin the rubber screed that’s supposed to wipe snow and water from the glass, resulting in subpar wiper performance when you need it most.
