It’s typically in the winter months that the mind turns to sources and methods of heating. But if you live in a heating climate, any time’s great time to think about it.

And I’m not just talking about any heat, I’m talking about fire — the real kind that comes from wood. Heating with wood is a modern warm-air solution that, ironically, has been keeping humanity warm since, well, humanity.

Wood is a renewable resource, and if you live in a place like the northeast, most of the wood supply was probably cut by local tree services. Because they’re probably delivering it a dump truck, there’s no factory, pipeline, refinery, or anything else to build and maintain to get the wood to your back door.
