If you love DIY or want to get started, I have a DIY workshop made for you.

Want to DIY with me?

I’ve designed this DIY workshop so that it is a fun and easy way to gain a few essential DIY skills.

And I’m thrilled to be hosting a workshop in Philadelphia’s Habitat for Humanity ReStore. The two-hour workshop will be broadcast live through blab.

Plus, since DIY is always better with friends, I’ll be joined on the online blab by two of my DIY women crushes, Pauline Henderson & Tara Dara. From across the country in Utah and Colorado, they will help answer your questions online and in the workshop.

“DIY isn’t a hobby for most people.  (Myself included.)  It’s a way of life that is demonstrated by addressing a need with your own two hands. I learned from an early age that a home can be built, things can be reused, and there is potential to create beauty by utilizing resources.  I learned all of this simply by being my Dad’s daughter and witnessing his lifelong ability to do this.” – Pauline Henderson

Tara Rex is a DIY woman who will take on any project even if it looks intimidating and writes about it on her blog, Taradara Made It.  Her motto is “It always works out”.  If she can’t do the whole job, she will find someone who can.  This hockey mom is constantly on the go, investing her time during the day with her boys and DIYing into the wee hours of the night.  She is a recurring guest on National Sewing Circle and writes articles for various magazines.  She blogs for Bob Vila and has appeared on Rachael Ray.  Painting, building, sewing, drawing, mural painting, and pottery are a few of Tara’s tricks.  You NEED to follow her on Instagram as she posts before, during, and after pictures of amazing projects.  You’ll be left inspired to go DIY something!

Saturday, we’ll be cutting molding, random doors, and odds-and-ends that we’ll find at the store, then we’ll be sanding, painting, and gluing them in place to make fun 24″ x 24″ wall art or a holiday centerpiece to personalize your tablescape that’s perfect for a holiday gift or treasure to show-off your mad skills at home.

A few of my best friends from Rockwell Tools, HYDE Tools, Krylon spray paint, Gorilla Glue and O’Keeffe’s are graciously supplying easy-to-use tools and paint that will help max-out our time in this workshop.

Best of all? I’ll be giving away tools to the workshop DIYers and a few watching on our live interactive online broadcast through blab. (note: blab does its best when you use the Chrome browser or a device that has an apple on its backside)

So mark your calendars and sign up to join me on Saturday, November 21st from 10am to noon at Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia’s ReStore for a fun hands-0n workshop. After just a few hours of cutting, sanding, painting, and gluing, you’ll have a 24″ x 24″ wall art created by you to keep for your home or give as a holiday gift.

The best part? I’m grateful that I get to help others by doing DIY.
