9 hours in the bathroom @Remodeling Show

It may not be every girl’s dream-come-true, but a construction trade show is always a fun time for me. No, not being sarcastic.

Just stay with me for a minute.

Mark teaching bath clinics at Remodeling Show

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Remodeling Show and Deck Expo in Baltimore.

Mark spent the week on a bathroom set he built, teaching how-to clinics on the show floor (see photo), and we were invited to interview experts and media at four of the coolest booths on the show floor (Grace-Bondera, Therma-Tru, LeadCheck, and Guardian Building Products), and spend time learning more about trends and insider news in person.

There’s just something about live in-person interviews that we love. And we had the first-time experience of doing a MyFixitUpLife show next to a batting cage at the Therma-Tru Doors booth. Attendees were actually hitting doors in a batting cage to see how the fiberglass doors don’t dent. And Jeff Devlin from HGTV’s Spice Up My Kitchen and A&E’s Drill Team stopped by to chat during our show at the Grace-Bondera booth. Pretty fun stuff.

But, here’s where the true-blue girl-fun comes in. In our MyFixitUpLife world, we have the opportunity to touch-and-feel new products and tools before they even hit the store shelves. If you’ve been to your local Home & Garden show, this is like the Disney-version. Everything is bigger and there’s more of it, too.

And when my high-heel-shoed toes got a little tired of walking around, I stopped by the Bathroom Showcase, where Mark taught 9 one-hour classes to the attendees. (I may be biased, but I think he was my favorite presenter.)
