Rain boots can be playful or serious, but when I’m looking for favorite rain boots, I’m not thinking about rain.
Rain changes my footwear.
I won’t wear a shoe that has a smooth sole. I won’t wear a mule. I won’t wear shoes that I plan to wear again in the next few days to an event. Slipping, falling, sliding are fun, but not when it’s a surprise slip in a mud puddle or when I can’t change clothes for several hours.
And I don’t think a practical shoe ruins an otherwise amazing look. A shoe can set the tone for a look, but it’s ambitious and limiting to rely on footwear for setting everyday style.
I’ll jump down from my soapbox now.
When I’m looking for something that will be practical, like a work boot or rain boots, I think about the extremes. Mud, wind, blinding sideways rain, standing or walking in wet conditions for many hours on end… If a boot can keep my feet comfortable and dry in those conditions, I’m more than confident those boots can get me around town on a rainy day with ease.
So I looked to equestrian footwear for my favorite rain boots. If the boots can keep the feet of people who work in and around stables dry and comfortable, while dealing with the muck and poo around horses, those boots can certainly deal with a residential job site.
I’ve worn these boots in blizzards, rain, job site muck and more. My feet have never been wet, cold, or uncomfortable. My favorite rain boots are the Pacy from The Original Muck Boot Company. Thank you for making my toes happy.
