Teresa–Some information about pallets. Take them apart carefully. Do not use the wood for any food contact areas as it may have been treated or had chemicals spilled on it (remember, these are built for life in industry—trucking, factories—not your kitchen). Be prepared for wood you don’t want to split to split when you nail or screw it. Most pallets we see are hardwoods–red oak for example. Or medium density species like poplar. And it’s all knotty and mangled stuff. Some people cut the nails to remove the planks. Others pry. Bonnie–The horse railing that I think you’re referring to (did you see it on our Facebook page?) is a custom piece done by someone else. After some research I’ve learned some artisans do these by hand while others, as you point out, have figured out how to CNC them. I contacted a few colleagues and was given this reference if you’re looking for an artisan. hello im a contractor, I love the show ! I have a question, for years I’ve been (recycling) carving scrap wood, tree branches, tree stumps, old tables, chairs and furniture into works of art . Do you have any suggestions on how I can get my stuff noticed ? Thanks.
Being. A horse lover & daughter of a western was artist I was curios was this total freestyle or did you do this on a cnc or programed machine. Don’t get DIY here but I applaud your work. I have had horses all my life and you did an excellent job. Wow, I was wondering how much you charge to do one about same size freestanding. This makes me want to add a second story so I could have one grace my home. It is simply gorgeous and I am married to a carpenter, haves horses and 2 western artists in family so that compliment is not given lightly. It is museum quality and I love it! Bonnie -Texas.
