Red-white-and-blue. Easy Fourth of July crafts for kids.

Jack is ready to start our kid craft for Fourth of July.

Crafting with our kids is one of the best ways to spend an afternoon, so we did this Fourth of July crafts for kids.

I love Fourth of July crafts for kids.

So my 6-year-old Jack and I shared a fun afternoon making this Fourth of July wreath for our front door.

It might be the easiest project I’ve ever completed with our kids. So that’s a huge Bonus Bonus for me.

We took a quick drive to our local Jo-Ann Fabric & Crafts store, and picked up a few packs of clothespins. I may have a hoarding problem with paint, so we already had the red, white, and blue from Sherwin-Williams that I wanted us to use. And I had an embroidery hoop, but Jo-Ann’s has all of these supplies.

The painting process got a bit messy. Partly because Jack is 6, and partly because he’s a 6-year-old boy. The entire project, from deciding to do a craft, to buying the supplies (and browsing the fabrics, and then paintable birdhouses….), painting the clothespins, and hanging it on our front door took less than 4 hours.

If you try this project or another Fourth of July crafts for kids, I’d love to know about it. Share in the comments below, or head over to Twitter, and we can talk right now. -T ????

Jack and I are psyched to paint. I had leftover paint from a few projects. The paint can lid cover from Shur-Line makes it a no-mess storage and pouring situation.

Best part of a project for Jack? Painting. I think it combines his love of color and potential for mess.

I got a little something on her face. Painting with my Jack can get a bit out of hand sometimes. It’s so fun.
