Surge protector review: Not large, big charge

This surge protector review includes powering up at project sites, hotels, the office and even airports. From my briefcase to workbench to ‘now boarding’ Accell’s Home or Away Power Station delivered.

First thing: If I had to ‘bottom line’ this surge protector review in one word: awesome.

For a little more detail: This 4-1/4 x 2-1/4 x 1-3/8-inch black box is slammed and jammed with smart features and dialed-in design. Because of its fold-down 3-prong plug, which I love—this surge protector fits into the small spaces found on site and on the road.

I can get a charge going behind desks, in the slots of my brief case, in the receptacle in a hotel bathroom, on my workbench at a project site, and just about anywhere else I go or work. Heck it’d fit in a stocking and be a great gift idea.

The next thing Accell’s surge protector does is it makes those small spaces better: Instead of taking up an outlet, it adds three. Hello camera battery AND my wife’s hair dryer (or router, saw, or phone).

But no surge protector review would be worth it if it didn’t include powering up portables: Accell’s double-barrel USB ports get almost constant overnight use for charging our laptops and phones.

On project sites I can plug it into my power strip and keep the same gear at full charge. In my office I can charge my phone without plugging its USB into my computer. I can just plug the phone in without 12 windows opening on my machine.

Not large, big charge.
